Kyaggwe members got a new Ssekiboobo (Speaker) Owek Kiwalabye Male who emphatically advised Ssaza Heads to work together with different Government Organizations in all their planned activities to develop and maintain the standards of the people of Kabaka.
Minister of Buganda Kingdom in charge of culture, customs and Tourism Owek David Kiwalabye Male was present at the Sazza Grounds represented the Buganda Speaker Charles Peter Mayiga in the Installation of the new Ssekiboobo Ssalongo Elijah Bogere Lubanga Mulembya and his Executive team he will be working with.
He advised them to offer land to Government in case they start projects that are going to benefit Buganda people, for example Building schools, hospitals, markets, and many others that aim at boosting good livelihood of the Kabaka people as the main goal.
"On this land of Buganda Kingdom 350 acres, Kyaggwe has 158 acres, therefore if Government has a good plan of building hospitals, schools, churches, just offer it because good things come when you do projects on land". Kiwalabye Male emphasized!
On the same function, the Bishop of Mukono Diocese The Rt Rev James William Ssebaggala told the Ssaza Chiefs who have gone through this Kyaggwe have been powerful therefore more is needed on to what has been put in place and we ask God to enable you achieve all the planned activities through Christ.
The Minister for Government organs Owek Joseph Kawuki said that for one to serve, he has to be in position to know the people he is serving and mobilize Baganda to elevate Buganda Kingdom.
The new Ssekiboobo Elijah Bogere thanked his Predecessor for the good leadership and guidance given and he pledged to maintain unity among Kabaka subjects that will help him achieve the Ssaza programmes and he asked them to help him in fighting poverty and diseases among the Kabaka subjects as well as boost the agricultural industry.
The former Ssekiboobo thanked the Kabaka of Buganda Kingdom to give him the opportunity to serve the 10 years and he urged the successor to handle Ssaza issues with care and guard its name as well keeping a happy Kyaggwe Community since it is Kabaka's main objective.
On this function, Clan heads like Muzee Mazige Robert Kitenda Mayanja of Mpindi clan also honoured the installation of Elijah Bogere. Other Clan heads were Omutaka Nsamba of Ngabi clan and religious leaders for the Muslim sect and the Bishop of Mukono Diocese the Rt Rev James William Ssebaggala who prayed to God enable the new Ssaza Head do well his work.
Majority of the Political leaders of Mukono including Hon Johnson Muyanja Ssenyonga MP Mukono South, Chairman LCV Mukono District Andrew Ssenyonga, Mayor Mukono Municipality George Fred Kagimu, head of Kyaddondo Kaggo Ms. Agnes Nakibirige were present.
